Closing of the Year

I first fell in love with this song when I heard it in the Robin Williams movie “Toys” back in the 80s.  And then I fell in love with it all over again one Christmas time when I was driving home to Mom and Dad’s — I can still remember rolling north on I-35 through the darkened fields of Minnesota with the snow falling gently, the little white flakes twinkling in the headlights, and the twinkly music coming out of the radio and surrounding me in the car.

The new year is advancing on us at an ever increasing rate.  Earlier this year it was coming at a rate of one month a month. By Thanksgiving it had sped up to a week every week!  Now it is approaching at a rate of one minute per minute!!

This has been a miserable year, beginning with Mom’s passing in January.   And after that it seemed like every time we turned around something was going wrong, from the kitchen faucet handle coming off in my hand, to Richard being hospitalized, to the idiot running the stop sign and crashing into me in the Jeep,  to the slide-outs not sliding back in.   So I, for one,  am ready for the new year.  It will be off to a great start with us moving into our new house, I only hope it continues with joy and happiness.

Happy New Year to all!!!!   *•.¸¸¸¸.•*¨*•☆.。.•*✿*•.¸¸❤

    here are the lyrics.
Wendy And Lisa – The Closing of the Year

If I cannot bring you comfort
Then at least I bring you hope
    For nothing is more precious
Than the time we have and so
We all must learn from small misfortune
Count the blessings that are real
Let the bells ring out for Christmas
At the closing of the year
Let the bells ring out for Christmas
At the closing of the year.

If I cannot bring you comfort
Then at least I bring you hope.

Now all the winter bells are ringing
Hear them echo through the snow
    And the children’s voices singing
on the streets so far below

This is a time to be together
And the truth is somewhere here
    Within our love of people
At the closing of the year.

Happy New Year, MJ and Family !!!11!!!
I’ve had 3 days away at the coast and yesterday was so, so, very hot (40C / 104F). Now I’m home and unpacking the caravan and trying to cool down my house. It was short but fun ;)
A happy and prosperous 2012 to you

So happy for you and your little fambly, moving into your BEAUTIFUL new home. What a wonderful way to start a new year! Having just lost my dad (as you know), the closeness of family grows ever more precious. May you all have many happy years there (and please keep Bud away from the gators, he’d murdilize ‘em).
*I’d enter a cute lil emoticon here but my puter won’t do it*

Hi guys! Thanks for the good words. It is cold here, it was 28 this morning when we got up. But it warmed up to the 60s and will be in the upper 70s in a day or two. :D Hope you aren’t getting buried in the snow.
