Good grief! It has been over a month since I posted anything here!
We have been busy getting settled in. Let’s see, what have been doing?
We got a lawn service. They came in and cleaned the flower beds, trimmed the palm trees, mowed the grass, edged the walks, etc. They come every other week now and when the summer comes, they will be mowing every week. They also got our sprinkler system sorted out — replaced a few sprinkler heads, re-aimed some others that were watering the house as much as the lawn.
We also got the ADT security system activated. Of course, the first morning after we got it turned on I opened the patio door without turning the alarm off first!! 😯
Took Richard to umpteen appointments at the VA — he still has umpteen more.
I had a colonoscopy. More fun than should be allowed by law. NOT!
We got furniture in the spare bedroom.
We got our drivers licenses changed and a new tag for the Jeep. Only took 4 trips to the DMV. 🙄
And on this past Wednesday, Dad moved in with us. He had been living with brother Ron about 20 miles away. Ron and Lois have had to be leaving him home alone 2 or 3 times a week, and they were justifiably worried. He had wandered off once or twice. Dad is 91, hard of hearing, and quite forgetful. They couldn’t call during the day to make sure everything was ok, because he doesn’t hear the phone ring, and couldn’t hear anyone talking on it if he did answer it. So Dad will be here with us, where we can keep an eye on him. He spends most of his time watching the squirrels, napping, playing cribbage, and napping.
